Workshops and Lectures

This year,  Medicalis plans to apply the same policy as last year and attract young researchers of the medical field with a scientific programme focused on various themes and innovative subjects. Participants will be able to attend lectures sustained by our special invitees from the international scientific arena and from the Romanian bio-medical field. More interactive activities will be offered in our workshops that give the opportunity to share ideas and interests and to enrich practical skills of certain research areas.

Our team is continuously working to ensure an attractive and useful scientific programme for promising future doctors and scientists participating in Medicalis 2012.

The MEDICALIS 2012 WORKSHOPS:

1. Knots and sutures:
In colaboration with S.S.C.R Cluj-Napoca (coordinator: Olivia Vasile)

2. Basic laparoscopy skills: In colaboration with S.S.C.R Cluj-Napoca (Coordinator:Olivia Vasile)

This workshop will give the participants the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery.

3. Emergency and disaster medicine; management of the traumatised patient

 Brief workshop description: The aim of this workshop is to develop theoretical knowledge and practical abilities in the management of the traumatised patient from the health care professional point of view.

The workshop will consist of two days training and an outdoor simulation of a car accident with multiple victims.

The workshop is suitable for anyone interested in emergency medicine, traumatology and intensive care, as well as for any health care professional who might be, at some point, in the situation of providing first aid before the arrival of the rescuers.

Management of the traumatized patient; first aid
09:00 – 10:15 First aid: cervical spine immobilization, control of hemorrhage, mobilization of the traumatized patients in case of spine injuries, immobilization of fractures, extrication devices, foreign body

10:30 – 11:30 Primary evaluation of the traumatized patient simulation: hands-on
11:30 – 11:45 Discussions, feedback
16:00 – 19:00 Simulation of a car accident with multiple victims: triage, pre-hospital care in trauma
