You need a valid passport and visa if you are from a country not in the EU. More informaton here. An invitation letter will be issued to every participant requiring one.
Language
Romanian is the official language. English is widely spoken throughout the country, particularly among young people. In some regions (like the one in which Cluj-Napoca is situated), Hungarian is also spoken by a minority.
Currency
Leu (RON) has an exchange rate of approx. 4,2 RON per 1€ and 2.9 RON per $1. There are many exchange offices as well as banks which accept all currency, traveller’s checks or credit cards.
Time zone and climate
Time is GMT+2.
The climate is continental with gradual transition between the four seasons of the year. In summer temperature can rise up to 38° C, while in winter it goes down to -15° C.

Southeastern Europe, bordering the Black Sea.
Healthcare
There are big University hospitals as well as a private clinics, doctors and dentists. Drinking water is available and you can use it without risk. There are no serious epidemic diseases.
Phone and internet services
Mobile phone coverage is allmost complete, so you only need to activate your roaming option in order to use your mobile phone in Romania. Internet Caffé-s are easy to find and in large cities like Cluj-Napoca there are places with Wireless Access Points.
Taxis
Taxis are available all over the city and can be easily spotted by their rooftop light. Charges are fair and you can use phone taxi services when needed.
Electricity
The electricity power is stable at 220V A.C. (50Hz)
