The Future Matters in Fetal and Neonatal Heart Disease
The workshop will cover the following issues:
- Congenital heart disease .
- Type and spectrum of congenital heart disease diagnosed prenatally as well as socalled difficult diagnoses.Information and counselling in various types of congenital disease ( e.g. transposition of the great arteries, tetralogy of Fallot, complex congenital heart disease).
- Associated lesions. Psychosocial issues and ethical debates.
- Fetal and neonatal arrhythmias.
- Fetal heart failure.
For all these scenarios the future matters with respect to fetus and mother but also the agenda for the interdisciplinary team involved will be discussed and critically reflected.
In preparation for this workshop I recommend studying of the following:
Critical neonatal heart disease, transposition of the great arteries, aortic isthmus stenosis, tetralogy of Fallot, hypoplastic left heart syndrome , supraventricular tachycardia in the fetus, congenital heart block in the fetus, fetal circulation.
